Born in North Carolina and raised in New York City, John embodies a mix of both country and city life. He grew up in the church as the son of two Southern Baptist ministers, and his first love was singing for the Lord, with baseball following closely behind. John went on to spend fifteen consecutive years performing on Broadway in five different shows and contributed to five Grammy Award–winning records. Most recently, he returned from Berlin, where he played Jesus in the world’s largest production of Jesus Christ Superstar, staged in an abandoned Nazi airplane hangar and performed to sold-out crowds with rave reviews. He now lives on a farm in Four Oaks, North Carolina.
